5A/21 Karnataka Bn NCC Udupi
The NCC, as a premier youth organization in our country, has immensely contributed in propagating national unity and integrity amongst youth. Its role in instilling in them the values of character, discipline and hard work and in shaping them into dynamic and responsible citizens of the country had been well recognized. It is one of the foremost organization which grooms the youth, the students to be worthy citizens and future leaders of our nations and further it instills in students discipline, courage, and Patriotism.
College NCC History:The NCC unit (SD Army) was started in our college in 1965. It was affiliated to 20 Mysore Bn. Dr.Pradhan Gurudatta was the first NCC Care taker. Lt. Prof. Gundanna was the ANO from the year 1966 to 1970. Later Sri H L Subrahmanya took charge of NCC. It was re-started in 1984. The unit was affiliated to 18 Karnataka Bn NCC-Mangalore in the beginning for two years and then shifted to 21 Karnataka Bn NCC Udupi. Silver Jubilee of the re-established NCC unit was celebrated in the year 2009. Major Gajanana M. Bhat, Professor of Kannada was the ANO. After his retirement in 2010, Captain (Dr) Narayana Shetty, Professor of Hindi, was in charge for one month and then Mr. Chinnaswamy, Assistant Professor of Kannada, acted as care taker for one and half years. Presently Dr. Kumaraswamy Udupa is working as ANO from 01 January 2012. The college has hosted several camps like ATC, NIC, Cycle expedition etc. and is active in several social events like blood donation, tree planting, swatch Bharat etc.
